Happy New Year!

Hope you have a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve and a fantastic 2014!

Birchbox December 2013

Here is my December Birchbox.  It was kind of an all over the place box this month.

I love the card for this month.  It is all decked out with festive colors for Holiday 2013.
This is the full list of products in the box for this month.
This is the Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray.  This leaves my hair soft, but with pretty tousled looking waves.  This does not make my hair feel heavy or crunchy.  It leaves my hair smelling great and still very soft and manageable.
I did not mind the Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy lotion, but I hate the way it is packaged.  The conatiner is so small it makes it very difficult to get product out.  I wish it was a little tube or something instead of this tiny little tub.  Gripes about the packaging aside, this product is okay, nothing I would purchase full size of as I love my Caudalie hand cream, but it is alright.
I have been putting the Supersmile Ultimate Lip Treatment on every night and every morning and really like what is has done to the condition of my lips.  My lips feel moisturized and soft after using this.  I really don't care for the scent or taste of it, but I can get past that since I love how it works.
I have used the Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion a few times as a highlight on my cheek bones.
I have used it both under and over foundation and it gives a nice dewy glow both ways.  It has pink undertones which may not work well for everyone.
It blends in very nicely leaving just a tad bit of shimmer.  While I like this I will continue to stick to my Benefit High Beam and Mary-Lou Manizer from the Balm.
The box also came with three tea samples from Ahmad Tea.  I got a Jasmine tea, Peach, and Earl Grey.  I have so far jut had the Earl Grey and it is delicious.  I absolutely love tea so I was so excited to see this in my box.

There was also this little extra thrown into the box to promote the Birchbox app.
The Birchbox app is really easy to use and I love the "unboxing" feature that it has for you to see your box for the month.
I stuck my cleaning cloth to the back of my phone then slipped my case back on.  I love that I have something that stays with my phone that is safe to clean the screen and lenses.

How stinking cute is this box?  I also loved the gold and white stripes inside the box.  So festive!

What I Wore: Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve this year I took a half day off of work so that I could relax and get ready for my Dad's Christmas Eve party in my own time.  This is how my make up turned out.
On my eyes I used Julep's eye primer, Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette (I used Dust, Burnout, and Buzz on my lids and Trick and Liar in the crease), tight lined with Marc Jacob's liner in black, used Stila's liquid liner, and YSL's Babydoll mascara.
For my brows I used It Cosmetics Universal Brow Pencil and Anastasia's brow gel.
On my face I primed with Benefit's That Gal, for foundation I used Benefits Oxygen Wow, and for cheeks I used The Balm's Down Boy.
For lips I am wearing YSL's Rouge Pur Couture in #9.

I also took the time to blow dry and then curl my hair with my new Remington clipless curling iron.
To prep my hair I used Alterna Bamboo's Kendi Dry Oil and Luminous Shine mist.
In order to hold the curl I sprayed with a bit of Tigi's Rochaholic hairspray.

This is the outfit I put together for Christmas Eve.  The dress is so comfortable and way more flattering than I thought it would be.  The cranberry tights went well with the necklace.
I love how it all turned out and I felt so beautiful leaving the house. Unfortunately the night turned out to be an incredible waste of a good outift, makeup, and hair day.  If you want to find out how my Christmas Eve took a turn for the worse, take a look at that post.

Dress: ASOS (same), Tights: ASOS (same), Necklace: J.Crew (same), Shoes: H&M (same)

Holiday Shopping Outfit

Most of the shopping malls I go to are mainly outdoor.  We have Legacy Place and Patriot Place in MA not too far from my house so I have to dress a bit warm when I go out shopping.

Sweater: H&M (similar), Scarf: Michael Stars (same), Mittens: H&M (similar), Jeggings: Simply Vera Vera Wang for Kohl's (same), Boots: Aldo (similar, similar)
I love these boots I got at Aldo.  They are so comfortable and I love the quilting and the buckles.
I got this vest from H&M on sale and I love it.  The body of it is knit and has faux fur trim at the front and around the neck.  It is so cozy and warm.

Vest: H&M (similar, similar)

Reason I've Been MIA

So I had all these nice outfit posts I was going to put up as well as my Black Friday haul, but on Christmas Eve while driving to my Dad's house for his party we got into a car accident.
A car hit my boyfriend and I in the back when we were driving in the middle lane causing us to spin 180 degrees through the high speed lane and into the jersey barriers.  That thing on the bottom right of the picture there is the bumper...it literally ripped off and is stuck under the car.
My boyfriend was driving and I was in the front passenger seat.  His quick thinking of navigating us through the spin ensured we did not hit any other cars and saved our lives.
I am extremely sore and still pretty tired so I probably won't have posts up until the weekend, but I just wanted to let you know.

Hope your Christmas and Christmas Eve were fantastic!

Influenster Jolly Voxbox 2013

I had gotten and invite to Influenster awhile ago and was picked for the Jolly Voxbox!  I was so excited to hear I was chosen especially since I am relatively new to the site.

Here is the card with a bit of information about the box.

This is the box's information card with all the products listed out on it.

This is everything I got in my box.  I was pleasantly surprised by the mix of products in the box.

The box came with these SkinnyCow divine filled chocolates with peanut butter.  These are absolutely delicious!  I brought these to work with me and have them in my desk for when I need a chocolate fix during the day.  Each package has three of them inside so it is the perfect amount.
I threw the Puffs Plus Lotion Purse Pack tissues in my bag as soon as I got them out of the box and have already used them up.  I did the rest of my Christmas shopping at an outdoor mall and my nose was running like crazy.  These helped to keep my runny nose in check and did not make my nose sore either because they have the lotion infused in them.
The box also came with this little roll of Ducklings Duck Tape.
I love the colorful paint splattered pattern of the tape.  It has the strength of regular duck tape except it is a smaller role and very cute!  I will use this for wrapping gifts for Birthday's because it is so bright and colorful as well as any small repairs around the house.
I have never really tried any Rimmel products so I was so excited to see this Show Off Lip Lacquer in my box.  This goes on so smooth and stays on for awhile.  It is not sticky and glides on nicely.  I definitely want to get more of these.
The color is a warm coral pink tone.  The shade I got is called Aurora and I really love how it looks on.
I have not tried NYC products since I bought one of their polishes in high school.  I am always so skeptical of drugstore eyeshadow.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by both the pigmentation of the shades as well as the smooth texture.  The Long Beach Sands trio is great for anyone of any age as they are just simple neutral browns.

Fab Fit Fun Winter Quarter Box

I got my Fab Fit Fun box in the mail!

Here is the cover of the booklet for this quarter.
First up in the box is this Bioxidea Miracle 24 Mask.  I love masks this time of year especially hydrating ones as my skin is so incredibly dry.
This is a "paper" mask that has the product infused into it and you place it on your face basically until it dries up.  I find this gives my skin hydration and therefore radiance.
I love Simple's wipes so I was so excited to see the Simple Foaming Cleanser.  I love foaming cleansers as they are so easy to use both in and out of the shower.  This one gets all my makeup off and makes my face feel clean.  It also does not irritate my skin.
I always need eye creams and this one is Skyn's Icelandic Relief Eye Cream.  I have not used it for long enough to know if it helps with any fine lines, but it does seem to help with morning puffiness.
I absolutely love the idea behind The Giving Keys and I love the Key that I received.  My key says "courage" on it and it is a good length (not too short) which I really like.  This is a great piece to just throw on with any outfit.
This bracelet is from Lorna Jane and is a pretty hot pink color and it is a rubber chain looking style.  This is to show support for their Move Nourish Believe initiative.
Along with this bracelet I got an info card to Lorna Jane.
The other card is for Physique 57's online classes.
The box also came with this Beauty For Real lip gloss.
The best part about this is that it has a mirror on the side of the gloss tube as well as a mirror in the top!  So awesome for putting on makeup on the go.
The color is Light My Fire and to be quite honest I am not a fan it kind of looks like diluted ketchup and doesn't look good on my lips.
I got the NYX Love in Florence in Prima Donna palette in my box as well.
I absolutely love the bow detail on the closure.  It is just to cute and girly.
Here is a clearer look at the colors in the palette.
These are the colors from left to right for the first three then top to bottom for the bottom two.  To be quite honest I have never been impressed with NYX shadows and I really was unimpressed with this one.  It came of splotchy and chalky and the color pigmentation was just not there.  It took five or more swipes of my finger to get the color to come out as dark as it is on the right.  I just can't be bothered to deal with sub par shadows.
The box also contained the TruEnergy headphones.  Mine are in a purple and pink combo.  I love that this comes with a splitter so someone else can connect in and listen to music with you.  These give good sound and I am pretty happy with them.
Last up is a gift credit to MeUndies.com.  I have not used it yet, but may do a review on what I get with the credit once I order something.
