Currently Loving: Beauty Products I Love Right Now

So today I figured I would share a few of my current beauty favorites.

To start out I have been using Fresh's sugar lip polish every night after I do my face routine.  It is not too abrasive and works well to scrub the dead skin cells and day gunk off my lips.  I have been using it for about a week or more now and I love it.  It does not irritate my skin and my lips feel so smooth and lovely.
After I use the lip polish I do a healthy coat of Mox Botanicals lip butter that I got in a birch box.  The "flavor" is pomegranate and fig.  It is very moisturizing and it doesn't make me break out having it on over night on my lips.  I wake up with very soft lips after using this in conjunction with the lip polish.

I have been using the Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Eye Pencil in Black every day for about this whole month.  It goes on very easily and stays on all day whether I wear it by itself or with mascara and eyeshadow.  It is a creamy, pigmented pencil.  I had gotten this one as a sample in my Beauty Bar box in January of this year, but only really started using it recently.

I got this benefit They're Real! mascara when I went to Florida on a whim as it is a mini and was in those eye catching rows of products near checkout.  I had heard wonderful things about this, but had never tried it.  Let me just tell you it is my all time favorite.  The wand is just perfection, the tip grabs all the little lashes near my inner and outer corner without me getting mascara all over my eyes.  This is really a miracle product for me as I had never found the perfect mascara before this one.  I am so happy I picked it up!
I got a mini of the Miss Dior Eau de Parfum as a Beauty Insider Reward from Sephora.  I have been wearing this more often lately as it's just such a lovely scent.  I love the bottle, the mini basically looks just like the big one, bow and all (and I LOVE bows!).

Small Haul: Stella & Dot and C. Wonder

Today was an excellent mail day.  I got my Stella & Dot order and my C.Wonder order.
I recently won a giveaway for Stella & Dot and got to pick a few pieces at 50% off.  I was more than thrilled. I got a zebra bangle (still on its way so I will post it when it comes), a ring and scarf.
I am capital O-bsessed with the packaging.  It is just so precious.  Hello gorgeous it proclaims, why thank you! (sorry I am such a dork...haha)
Here is the ring I bought.  I am so in love with it. The green of the center stone and the halo of rhinestones, it just could not be any more perfect.  I got it in a larger size to wear on my pointer or middle finger as to me it just works on those fingers the best.
It is the Suzanne cocktail ring, described as hand cut green glass and cubic zirconium stones ornately set in worn gold plated brass.
If you go to the site to view the ring you will be able to see why I picked the scarf I will show you soon to go with this ring.
A sweet little something indeed!
Oh well I do try to be très chic.

Sorry for my awkward claw hand, but this is the ring and scarf in action.  The scarf is their Bryant Park Scarf in Poppy.  It is a lovely deep bright orange with magenta elephants on most of it and a neat geometric square pattern towards the bottom.
Both the ring and scarf are great quality and do not feel cheap whatsoever. Seriously I love Stella & Dot and I am sure these treasures won't be my last purchases from them.

From C. Wonder I got a latte whipper which I didn't grab a picture of, but I got it because it was cheap (only $1) and awesome.  It is completely sold out on their website it would seem, but you can find similar ones here.
The last thing I got in the mail today are these gorgeous earrings I picked up with the latte whipper on uber sale.
These are the druzy studs in iridescent navy.  I love these because no two can be the same and they are just so beautiful. They really can go with anything and everything and can be a statement in and of themselves if needed.

Quote Tuesday

Picture from Design Sponge

I love this quote as I am an avid tea drinker and have many a few cups of tea when I get home from work at night.  I definitely want this framed and hanging up in my kitchen.

DIY: Re-purposed Gift Boxes

I got a new Coach purse and new leather boots (Tommy Hilfiger, no link so I will post a picture soonish) for Christmas so my boyfriend bought me Coach's leather cleaner and moisturizer and they came in the gorgeous boxes above.
I didn't just want to throw the boxes out as they were too pretty so I set out to re-purpose them.

All I did was careful dismantle the sides of the box so that it was flat, then I folded the sides up so that the orange outside of the box made the walls for the inside and the Coach logo was at the bottom.  I held it together with some basic scotch tape and voila.  Insta-diy-gorgeous jewelry box.  I also use one to hold some of my makeup.  The bright color is lovely on my vanity.

Youtube Love: Leigh Ann Says

I recently found Leigh Ann's youtube videos and I am a seriously loving them.  She's so funny and personable and this hair tutorial was like an "ah ha" moment for me.  I have been getting more and more into watching youtube videos to expand my repertoire of beauty/hair products and ideas.

Check her out, she's pretty darn awesome.

New Planner by May Designs

I received my new may book from May Designs in the mail.  I am obsessed with their custom planners.  I had one last year and just ordered and shortly thereafter received my new one.
You can choose the background as well as the choice to have it monogrammed or initialed or you can choose really anything you like to have it labeled.

I do the planner months and weeks, but you can choose to do a bump diary, baby diary, meal planner, wedding diary/planner, etc.
I have some people in my life who are getting engaged/already engaged and I am definitely looking to get them the wedding diary customized just for them.

Currently Coveting: Beauty

The first thing I am wanting right now is the Glinda palette from Urban Decay.  I first saw it on xsparkage's youtube review.  Let me just tell you I fell in love.  I don't do anything to crazy with my makeup, but the colors in this palette are just so pretty and that super-saturated high gloss is just too gorgeous for words.

I meant to buy this color when I bought my first YSL lipstick.  I am dying to own this gloss, it is in dewey papaya and it is just the perfect coral for my skin tone.
Lastly, I really need to stock up on this Sephora nail polish remover.  I love that it is minimal effort and can still get my glitter polishes off. I have pretty much used the one I currently own down to the point of gross.

Currently Coveting: Shabby Chic and Toms Collaboration

I am fervently awaiting the arrival of the Toms collaboration with Shabby Chic that I first saw was coming out on Amuse Bouche.  I mean come on, just look at these beauties.

They are coming out in the wedge and the classic.  I really prefer the classic and have been checking their website obsessively  every so often to see if they are stocked yet.  They are due out sometime this month.

Tea Lover: Flowering Tea

I wanted to give this flowering tea set a try and seeing as how I have today off and could relax I figured it would be a perfect day to test it out.  I am an avid tea drinker.  We have WAY too much tea here from my favorite loose leafs from England to Tetley from the grocery store we have it all.  We actually have a 3 drawer storage unit in the kitchen spilling over with all our tea and coffee.

The tea I tried today is a rose tea and it is just delicious, very delicate and light so it just needs a bit of sugar.

My Aunt's and my mom gave me two beautiful teacups that were my grandmother's with this tea set so I used one of them today.  It's nice to use something owned by her because it reminds me of her.

I am sure I will do plenty more tea posts as it is something that I just adore.

February 2013 Beauty Bar/ Sample Society

I actually received my Sample Society box earlier in the month, but I had already ripped through it and thrown out the packaging before I started really blogging on here.
I will tell you a bit about what I received in my box this month though.

The first product is the Immunocologie Treatment Creme VenoMax this moisturizer is capital A-mazing!
Here is what this little baby does:
  • Helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles
  • Ideal for day and night use
  • Defends against chronic inflammation
  • Rich, luxurious treatment
  • Brightens the complexion
  • Evens skin tone
It really does do everything it says it will and I am in love. It is rather pricey, but my goodness is it worth every penny!

I also received Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Mousse.  I do not usually use mousse, but I do enjoy other Oscar Blandi products and would expect the same quality from this.  I have used mousse in the past and would probably use this maybe before a night out to give my hair extra plumpness.

In my box was also Exude Lipstick Gloss in Dusty Pink.  I cannot express enough how much I love this product.  I love that it is in a pseudo lipstick shaped applicator because it just feels so chic.  The formula is creamy and goes on with just a bit of pink color.  It does tingle when it goes on which is rather nice and the scent is not overpowering.  I have been using this one since I received it and am very happy with it.

I have not had a chance to use the LaRocca Skincare Hibiscus Cream Cleanser with AHA that I received.  I am very picky about cleansers and really any sort of face washes as my skin is sensitive.  This one seems like it would be okay from the bit I swatched to see how my skin would react.  It seems like it would work well so I will give this one a go at some point.
I have tried the Maya Water Facial Mist Organic Goji and I will be honest when I say that a facial mist is a foreign concept to me.  It just reminds me of those water bottles with fans attached to them we'd use in Disney on hot days.  I know I know this is different because it's made with Norwegian water.  Color me confused.  I have heard loads of beauty bloggers and celebs alike touting the greatness of water facial mists and maybe I just need to try it out more, but so far I am not all that impressed.

February 2013 Birchbox

Today I received my Birchbox in the mail.

The theme this month is Red Carpet Ready, same as the ipsy box, but I still love the idea of it.

Can't wait to dig into the pink tissue paper!!

So excited about that little pouch of goodies. The chocolate was gone after I finished going through the box (in about 5 seconds after...).  Who doesn't love Ghirardelli...chocolate and caramel, come on now that's just a winner.

Here is a look at everything that was in my box.
I typically do not use hairspray, but I give the TIGI Rockaholic Fun Times Flexible Hairspray
Here is a look at everything that was in my box.
I do not typically use hairspray, but I have heard fantastic things about this hairspray.  I will just have to give thTIGI Rockaholic Fun Times Flexible Hairspray a try.
I have not yet found a Juicy fragrance that I don't like. This one is the Couture La La which has nice floral notes.  I think my favorite of theirs is Viva La Fleur, but I digress.
I also received a twistband headband in the green color from the "You're a Gem" collection. My hair is pretty silky so these type of headbands usually don't stay, but I have heard great things  about them and am always willing to give new hair products/accessories a go.
The Secret Agent Beauty Secret Lip Affair gloss is light and pretty. I received the color Pretty-Pink Provocateur (Level 2).  It goes on a bit tingly and has an almost tropically scent.

Julep Valentine's 2013 Mystery Box

So Julep had a promo for a mystery box and I am nothing if not a sucker for a mystery.

Here is what I got in that box:

So I got a free nail color coupon.
The top right is a lippy in the color poppy.

The nail colors are as follows (clockwise starting at the top right): Eva, Audrey (classic with a twist), Glenn, and Madison (classic with a twist).

February 2013 Pop Sugar Must Have Box

Today I received my second Pop Sugar Must Have Box in the mail.  Boy will I tell you I have not been disappointed with this box.  It is always filled to the brim with tons of amazing goodies.  See the pictures below to view what I received this month.

I always love the gorgeous hot pink tissue paper inside the box!

Getting excited when I see the box LOADED with goodies!

You can never have enough jewelry cleaner especially one that comes with it's own cleaner brush!

Yum delish chocolate crunchy balls of heaven from MarieBelle New York.  The packaging is also absolutely adorable and lovely.

Who doesn't love a good Nicholas Sparks novel? And a bookmark with it to boot!

Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable in Romantic (#045) is a nice red for Valentine's Day.  The color is a tad orangey on my skin so I don't particularly like the color, but I bet it would like fab on someone without my olive skin tone (curse my Italian roots! lol...just kidding).

Hanky Panky's one size pink lacey thong.  It seems to be a decent size, but my feeling on one size clothing is that it fits some, not most...we shall see.  I do like the color of it and the lace as it is ever so pretty and I am sure my boyfriend will appreciate the lacey bit.

This is the best thing in this box in my humble opinion.  I have been dying for one of these forever. I suppose you're wondering what it is as the packaging seems to make it largely unclear. It is a wrap by brokedown to basically replace a robe/trying to hold up your towel while you get ready which is really ever so awkward.  This is SO incredibly soft and it is the prettiest light pink.  Oh I am just in love with it *swoon*.
I went on brokedown's website to view their other items and my goodness do they have an abundance of beautiful items.  If only my wallet would allow a splurge on one of their GORGEOUS scarves.

Here's the whole shebang, pretty nifty.  You can see a box of sweethearts in there...the boyfriend and I ripped those open pretty quick so I couldn't get a picture (haha).

And I would like to introduce my adorable cat, Amorette whom I call Lambie.  She really only responds to kitty. Here she is in all her startled splendor (she will be around here quite a bit as she is just too cute not to share pictures of her!).

First Julep Box

I got my first Julep box in the mail.  It was free because I had a promo code so I figured I would give it a go.  I chose the American Beauty set and the colors are lovely.
I also got a free chapstick with it.

Here is a view inside the box:

Here is a view of the products I received:
The lip balm is on the bottom left there. Then I got two nail colors (from left to right) in Lynn (american beauty) and Stefani.  I also received the Julep Essential Cuticle Oil which is great because my cuticles are always dry and cracking (even with the loads of L'Occitane hand cream I use.
